Taking a Yoga Teacher Training in another country offers a unique opportunity to deepen your learning experience as you explore new lands and new cultures.
It is the perfect way to blend studying, travelling and volunteering while making unforgettable memories and new friends!
South Africa is a a country of unbelievable natural beauty and cultural diversity set against the backdrop of stark financial and social divides that have forced its citizens to embrace the principle of UBUNTU – ” humanity towards others”. which offers up a belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity. This is in alignment with the most fundamental teachings of Yoga and all great spiritual traditions.
Its history of racial discrimination and segregation inspired great humanitarian leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu and we believe that your time here with us will inspire you to become leaders and ambassadors for change in your own communities.
Your 28 days will be a blend of intensive study of yoga, combined with heart expanding, Soul nourishing volunteer work and balanced with just the right amount of down time to see the “Mother City” and experience the vibrant energy of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Working closely with our volunteer co-ordination partner we will have the opportunity to see directly some of the challenges being faced by people in South Africa. But in doing so we will be INSPIRED by the stories of individuals, projects and communities that have overcome barriers and found success, happiness and purpose amidst hardship.
Our project include working with children through education and sport, environmental clean ups, helping animals, and creating sustainable gardens in townships. Through these work you will have a direct experience of UBUNTU – humanity towards others that will leave your heart singing with joy!
